As I head towards my first live shows and with technology being somewhat different to that of my last performance 25 years ago, I now find myself using in ear monitors, a note pad mixer, a Zoom H2 recorder and a Tama Rhythm Watch.
Naturally the gear all needs to be kept together safely for transportation, so I decided to use a metal camera case which has worked out very well, but the question remained, how to keep it close by on stage, at the right height and in no danger of being sent flying?! I'd been thinking about using a folding fisherman's chair when I spotted this on the Bay Of E. At under £10, it is the length of a rack leg and opens out to give an ample space for the case. I can also lock it off at each end with some climbing hooks that stay attached to the case, so in around 10 seconds, it is set up, locked on and ready to go! I may now also hang the stick bag on the front - perfect!
